This is undoubtedly one of the best perks of high rise living. The higher the floor, the better the view. Las Vegas high rise condos have amazing views. The strip is a sight to behold at night. In the daytime, you can see the gorgeous city surrounded by the beautiful mountains.
Disadvantages of High Rise Living
Limited space. If you are a pack rat and you’ve accumulated a lot of mementos and stuff, you can’t bring all of that with you in your high rise condo. Most high rise Las Vegas buildings don’t have a storage system, so you have to scale down and probably rent a storage for your belongings.
Elevators. Because of the number of people using the elevators, it can get so slow that it is an inconvenience.
On times when you have plenty of time to waste and actually have the patience, waiting is fine. But if you are in a hurry to get somewhere, it can be really stressful.
If you happen to live on the 26th floor and you are dressed to the nines, it can be difficult to walk down the stairs.
And what if you have to go home from grocery shopping and one of the elevators broke down? Let’s just say your arms will get a workout.
Noise aspect. A condo is a community, which means that there are people all over you.
There are people living above you, below you, and beside you.
This means you have be always thinking of the noise you are making so you won’t disturb the other residents. It can be difficult especially if you have some friends over and having a party.
You have to be consciously making less noise because you don’t want to get complaints from other people living down the hall.
Or it could go the other way around. It could be that your neighbors are the one constantly making a lot of noise and disturbing you.
In such close proximity, the noise is one aspect you cannot control in condo living. However, the noise level lessens as you get to the highest floors.
If you happen to live on the penthouse, the noise aspect is something you shouldn’t be concerned about.
High living cost. The amazing amenities, round-the-clock protection and concierge, and almost every convenience you enjoy in condo living comes with a price, the HOA fee. The HOA fee is different for every condo.
In Las Vegas, HOA starts from $300 and goes to almost up to $2000. This is a monthly fee you have to pay, and it increases almost every year.
Outdoor space. Living in a high rise means yes, you don’t have a yard to mow because you don’t have a yard at all. You don’t get any outdoor space.
Some high rise units have balconies, but because of limited space, you also don’t get much out of them.
Rules and regulations. Condos have strict regulations that you have to follow. If this is your first time to move to a condo, this will take some time to get used to.
Parking. Depending on the size and price of your unit, you get a parking space. In most cases, you get one parking spot.
If you happen to live on the highers floors which have bigger living spaces, you can have up to two parking spaces.
Living in a Las Vegas high rise condo can be fun and exciting. It can also be a burden if you did not think things thoroughly before making them.
